CISF training college, initially established at Partapur ( Meerut) in 1969 was shifted to Shivrampally, Hyderabad in 1971, In 1987, the college moved into the present premises at Hakimpet, Secundrabad (A.P) and was upgraded into an academy on 8 Dec. 1990 with Dy Inspector General as its head. NISA was declared “Centre of Excellence” by the Ministry of Home Affairs (GOI) in the field of Industrial Security on 30.09.1999.Keeping in view of the increasing role of NISA in conducting not only the basic as well as in–service courses for CISF officers, but various courses and seminars for the officers of others organization also, the post of Director NISA has been upgraded to the rank of Inspector General |

The academy is also organizing prestigious In-Service Course like Vertical Interaction Courses for IPS Officers, Disaster Management Course for District Level Officers and Integrated Industrial Security Management Course for Commandants and Deputy Commandants and equivalent ranks of Police and Para-Military Forces and PSUS .The academy is located opposite to the Air Force station, Hakimpet alongside the Rajiv Gandhi state highway (Secunderabad to Warrangal) on the outskirts of Hyderabad city.The academy, is spread over an area of 237 acres.The climate of this place is generally very pleasant. | |

Fire Service Training Institute of CISF formerly located at Deoli in Rajasthan is also now stationed at NISA Complex. FSTI, which is the premier fire service training institute in the country, imparts professional training in fire fighting and fire prevention to not only members of the CISF Fire cadre, but also personnel of National Fire Service College (Nagpur), Coast Guards, DG-CD sponsored SOs Course, Rapid Action Force of CRPF,Chukha Power Project (Bhutan) and ONGC Assam. etc.The locality has a pleasant weather pattern with mild winter (110-260C), moderate summer (280-450C) and sufficient monsoon rains (June-Sept). |
